Why I do Photography for a living...

I understand art; I live it, I breath it and I have years of experience as a photographer to back up my reputation. I am fortunate to be working in a profession I absolutely love! Heimlich photography consist of a group of like minded photographers who all love art as much as I do.

We are not just capturing your moment in time but we are producing work to which we are proud to add our names. We will capture your day with an artistic eye. We will deliver unique images that will express your individual personality while totally focusing on your needs and leaving you with a quality portfolio.

Professional Training....

I am the owner and a local Ohio photographer and have been in business professionally since 2005.

In 2009 I received my BFA from the Ohio State University where I graduated Cum Laude with a distinction in fine art photography. I furthered my career and received my master's degree in 2013. I work in both film (upon request) and digital formats. Not only did I receive expert training in film/video but also in digital processing.

I met my colleges while in college and we have worked together for over a decade. The one thing we all have in common is our love for that unique artistic shot.

My Philosphy....

Taking photographs is about establishing relationships. The process is a trust between the subject and the photographer, an agreement to communicate visually. As a photographer, I observe my subject and wait for those signals of unspoken trust. In every photo shoot there is a moment when the model will let down his or her guard, remove the façade and allow me to capture their true inner spirit. The skill is not in the equipment, nor is it luck. It is about knowing when to push the button and having that experience and instinct to time and frame everything right.

My Assistants...

I have five assistants that I have worked with for several years. Each assistant has a style that is unique and personal. I choose my assistant based on the kind of photography you desire. That way you receive a blend of styles tailored to your specific needs. My Master photograhers have at least 10 years of experience and formal training form The Ohio State University.
